5 Months

Camden turned 5 months yesterday, February 23. We weighed him today and he was a whopping 18 lbs. At this rate, he would be just under 20 lbs. at his 6 month check-up. What a big boy! And just think, sometimes I exercise while holding him. He has been eating rice cereal for a few weeks now. We are waiting until he is 6 months to give him other solids. He can sit up for a few seconds unsupported. After a little bit he will lean forward or lose his balance and fall to the side. He can also stand up holding onto something without our hands supporting him for 20-30 seconds at a time. He loves for Kevin and me to sing to him and also enjoys Kevin playing the guitar for him. He sometimes tries to play the guitar too. He still likes for us to make all the animal sounds for him and if he gets fussy, we can usually calm him down with an animated version of "Old McDonald had a Farm". We put Camden in the Johnny-jumper, but he hasn't really gotten the hang of jumping quite yet. He has been going through a long teething phase for the past few weeks, but no teeth yet. It could be another month or two before we actually see the teeth. We are so proud of our boy and are excited to see what new things he will accomplish in the coming months. Also, we want to wish Cousin Callie a very happy first birthday!
