I cannot believe how smart Camden has become. He isn't saying much yet, but he has said "ou-si" (outside without the consonant sounds) several times, and he has said "a boo" (a book without the 'k' sound). I know he knows what that means too, because he points to those things when he says them. Speaking of pointing, Camden points to EVERYTHING! He is quite a communicator with that little finger. He can show you where things are in the house too. He knows: bookshelf, clock, tv, picture, outside, light/fan, candles, table, window, apron, microwave, flowers, trees, door, stairs, books, water, spoon, pacifier, puppy, and probably more. He can also distinguish between certain toys. In the bathtub, he can correctly point out his toy boat, fish, turtle, and duck.
He loves being outside and when we are outside makes me walk back and forth between different trees so he can touch them. He pushes around little cars and make a "vroom" sound as he pushes them. I really don't know where he learned that, because I never made those sounds for him. He loves to push a walking toy around and can even figure out how to go to the other side when he runs into a wall or something and the toy gets stuck. He knows how to turn on the tv using the buttons and how to turn off light switches. He is fascinated with opening and closing doors and drawers and cabinets. For the most part, he is pretty good about leaving things alone in the drawers and cabinets. He also likes to turn doorknobs. He loves to play the piano and watch "Baby McDonald" a Baby Einstein video. He loves to read books and especially likes turning the pages of the books. He loves little babies! Our friends have a 3 month old named Kaiden and he is very fascinated with him. We were at church and they were across several aisles and Camden saw them and kept pointing at Kaiden. He likes to play with other kids. His Sunday school teacher told us that Camden and her little boy, Levi, played together (not very common for babies) and gave toys to each other. Today, Camden and I went to the grocery store and he was hamming it up with the workers and people waiting in line, smiling and pointing and laughing and just being cute. One of the managers thought he was so cute that he gave us a free package of sausage and a quarter of a watermelon! There is so much stuff, I know I am leaving some stuff out. But we will have another update after his birthday.
