15 Month Check-up and Some Sickness

Camden had his 15 month check-up on Monday, December 28. He did very well when the doctor checked him out and only cried a short while after his shots. We calmed him down with yogurt bites (his favorite snack). The doctor said he was great and very healthy. He got three shots including his 3rd DTap and his first MMR. We went home for a while and he took his normal naps and then later we ran errands and got ready to pick up Aunt Rachael (my best friend from college) from the Denver Airport.

Camden did fine in the car on the way to the airport eating a supper I had packed for him, but towards the end he was getting tired of being in the car (it had been 4 hours since we left the house.) We decided to stop for some supper on the way back from the airport at a food court in the mall. Camden was happy to be out and roaming about. While Rachael and I got some dinner, Kevin followed him around and let him get some energy out. Soon after we sat down to eat, Kevin came over and sat Camden down in a chair so he could get his food. I noticed Camden was being very quiet and still. Not very common for him. He also seemed to have a fever. We decided to get some Tylenol from a Target that was across the parking lot. Kevin went in and we waited for him in the car, when Kevin came back out he gave Camden a dose of Tylenol. As he was giving it to him, Camden vomited all over himself, the car seat and the car. There was a lot! More than I have ever seen come out of someone that small. We made several trips into Target to get towels, clean clothes, and Febreeze. We cleaned off Camden, the car seat, and the car as best as we could and continued on our way back to Colorado Springs. Thankfully, Camden slept all the way back. He threw up a couple more times and had a very restless sleep that night. The next day he seemed to be better, just tired from being up late and being sick. We had fun the rest of the week with Aunt Rachael.

Saturday, Rachael and I went out to meet some friends she knows here in Colorado Springs. Kevin called me when we were out and said Camden had a fever. When we got home, he was being very lethargic and sleepy. That night he slept very little and had a fever at 103F while taking Tylenol and Motrin. Poor baby. He continued to have a fever off and on all day Sunday and some on Monday too. I took him to the doctor on Monday, but he just seems to have some effects from teething, immunizations, and a respiratory virus that is causing mayhem in his system. Today has seemed to be a little bit better, but we will see tonight how he is.

His Stats:

Weight : 22 lbs. and 12 oz., 15th percentile
Height: 31 1/4 inches 50th percentile
Head Circumference: 18 1/2 inches, 50th percentile

Vocabulary:

He now says a few more phrases and words: "Other side", "I made it" (when playing basketball), "Hold you" (when he wants to be picked up or held), "Happy Birthday", Dominic: "Ah-mi-na" (a friend of ours), Ezra "E-rah", Aunt Rachael "An Ray-al", "Yogurt" (pronounced yo-gur), "pancakes" (pan-aes), and lots more that I cannot keep up with. He refers to his videos that he likes to watch on the computer and on tv as "Happy". I guess they make him happy. He refers to all food and drinks as "water", although he can say the names of most of the foods he eats. He loves to dance to music and even though he has been sick, will still make an effort to dance to music.
