So, what's been going on? We have been keeping busy with helping our friends the Leonards and the Millers move out our house and their house, respectively, and into the Leonards' new house. The Millers are going to be living with the Leonards for one month until their new place is ready on May 1st.
Camden misses his friends. He really enjoyed having "brothers" and a "sister" for awhile. He asks about them on a regular basis. When I was helping the Leonards move, I was doing some of their laundry and Camden saw me folding some of Reese's pjs and said "Reese", pointing to the pjs. Camden is getting to be too smart for his own good. He started asking why a couple of weeks ago and now he says it all the time. Camden's first use of why went like this: Kevin was eating breakfast with Camden and they were eating eggs. Camden really likes dipping things into all kinds of dips, so he asked Kevin if he could dip his eggs. Here is the script of what took place:
Camden: "Dip it?" (making a hand motion of dipping his eggs in something)
Kevin: "No bud, we don't dip our eggs."
Camden: "Why? Why?"
And so it began!
Camden has been really good about saying please and thank you lately. I am so proud that he has good manners. He is also super friendly. On the same morning of the why incident, we went to church and as Kevin and Camden were walking into church someone said good morning to them and so Kevin said it back and then Camden also repeated the phrase.
Camden loves playing ring around the rosies. He holds our hands or his friends hands or sometimes just turns in circles by himself. He sings "Ring around, ashes, ashes and fall down". I think he will be singing the whole song pretty soon. Camden also likes to pretend to be a kitten and a frog. He learned this from Adelyn. When he is a cat, he "meows" and crawls around on the floor. When he is a frog, he gets down into a crouching position and flops forward on his belly (he doesn't have the skills to land on his feet yet), and he says "ribbit, ribbit". Camden also can count to three. He does that on his own and then needs our help for anything past three. He tries to count with his fingers, but he has only figured out one so far.
