Facebook Updates

Kaylin mentioned in her blog that Facebook is not saving your updates past a couple of months. That is not good news for me. I put a lot of things up on facebook that I want to remember about the boys. Well, I am going to post those updates here too. Kaylin did that on her blog and I think it is a great idea. Feel free to skip reading this post, this more for me than anything else.

8/17  I gave Carson a pair of my old sunglasses to play with. I then got busy doing something else and when I checked back up on him, he was trying to put them on!! Cute boy : )

8/15  One more Camden story:
C: Mom, do you know what I want for my birthday?
Me: No, what?
C: I want a Batman trombone and a Batman drum set.
Me: Well... I'm not sure about that.
C: Then, can I just have a Batman guitar?
Me: Maybe, I don't know.

So, I asked Camden what he wanted to be when he grows up. I was planning on doing it for his first day of preschool and write it on the chalkboard. Still may do that. But this is what he told me: "I want to be...(thinking) Iron Man, or... (more thinking) a doctor."
Gotta love him!!

Happy 10 months sweet baby boy! I love you so much : )

8/14  Well, Camden is at school and Carson is down for his morning nap. What is a mama to do with no kids for a few hours?

8/11  I just want to recognize my husband. He has worked every day this week, come home and spent time with me and the boys, then when we've gone to bed, he has worked until the wee hours of the morning. I appreciate all you do for us!

8/9   Just shy of 10 months (eek!!), Carson got his first bottom tooth! It is poking out finally!

8/3  On the positive side, Carson went to bed at 8pm last night, slept until 9:30, nursed, went right back to sleep and is still asleep this morning (8:10am)!!! On the negative side, Camden woke up at least twice, he had fever : ( and is still feverish this morning. Thankfully, my wonderful husband got up with Camden and let me sleep!!

8/2  Every evening this week, storms have rolled in around 3:30-4:00ish and the temperatures have dropped to a nice 65-70 degrees. Not only is the rain nice, but I love these cooler temperatures in late July and August!!! Have to love Colorado!

7/31 A couple new Camdenisms: Today we were talking about Camden going to preschool and he said he would be good and listen to his teacher. He said, "If my teacher tells me to write a 'S', I will write a 'S' and not scribble it.
Since the olympics started, Camden has been really interested in the diving. He stands on the edge of the couch (sometimes forwards, sometimes backwards) and jumps off usually while twisting. He LOVES it! That's about right for my boy who loves water slides and swimming. He is just taking it to the next level.

7/30  I think little guy is going through a growth spurt. Yesterday he took 3 naps (one that was 3.5 hours and two that were 1.5 hours) then slept from 9pm until 1, nursed, slept from 1-7, nursed and then slept until 8. Woke up briefly (maybe 30 minutes) and took another nap from 8:30-11:30am!! He woke up from each nap smiling and right now is playing happily with his toys! Going to stay at home for a couple of days and let him get what he needs!!

7/19  Camping at Jellystone park in Larkspur tomorrow. And then the Renaissance Fair on Saturday. And then camping with the Leonards the following weekend.

7/14  Just a little bit of a Carson update (so I don't forget): On our vacation, Carson only slept for 1-2 hour stretches during the night, which meant Mommy was super tired the whole time. When we got home, he started sleeping 4-7 hour stretches (one night he slept 7 full hours without waking, a first for my almost 9 month old)! Mommy is finally getting a little bit more sleep. He has almost got pullin
g up on his toy box down. He has done it a couple of times but hasn't quite mastered it. Carson does have clapping and high fives and kisses for mommy mastered! He has said dada and mamma. If you ask him where mama, dada or brother is, he looks at the right person. His favorite toy is a small ball he can hold in one hand. While cleaning all day yesterday and most of the day today, Carson was a dream. He just sat on his little blanket in whatever room I was in, and played with his little toys. He is such a sweet, happy baby and tomorrow he turns 9 months! Happy 9 months sweet Carson!

7/10  I have a good little problem solver in my almost 9 month old. Camden was verbal at a really early age, Carson has the ability to find hidden objects and use "tools" to get the result he wants. This evening he was playing with a ball (his favorite toy) and when it rolled out of reach he grabbed my hand and pulled on it because he knew that I could reach it and get it back to him. I have seen other examples of this type of problem solving in him too!

7/5  About to be heading home to Colorado. We have had the best time on our vacation.

7/5  We were talking last night about how glad we are to have met Carson as a baby. We almost missed that cuteness completely! Y'all drive safely today :)  (from Kaylin Booker)

6/29  About to eat breakfast, pack up our hotel room and head to Illinois! YAY!

6/28  Best update I've found so far today: "From the morning media briefing: 'We now know hundreds of homes have been destroyed,' Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach said. However, no more structures were lost overnight and no new evacuation orders were issued. Jerri Marr of the U.S. Forest Service reported good progress in the battle against the fire. While Wednesday was a good day, officials said, Thursday is expected to be better. Growth of the fire has slowed, with the number of acres burned remaining at 18,500. There are 1,200 firefighters engaged against the blaze." -- 18,500 acres is 29 square miles.

6/26  My sweet 3 year old just said a sweet prayer to send rain to Colorado and to keep everyone safe and that the fire would go away.

Woke up at 4am this morning to the smell of smoke (from the Waldo Canyon fire) 20 miles away from our house. It has been burning since Sat morning and this is the first time I have smelled the smoke. Not a good thing, since we have no A/C and we depend on having our windows open to cool off.

6/20  Both boys are glad to be home with their daddy.

6/19  Back in Colorado. Was one of the most horrible car trips I've experienced. But, I am thankful we made it safely.

6/5   Camden came to me with his teddy bear (actually it was mine when I was a little girl) and said, "This is my favorite bear, because he is all brown. The other one is blue and one is red and brown and black. But this one is all brown, see (points to his nose, eyes, and fur) his nose is brown and his eyes are brown and his hair is all brown."

5/28  Camden is so clever! Today we were driving to the gym and he said, "Momma, I think it is going to rain." Me: Oh yeah, maybe. Camden: When there are white clouds in the sky it doesn't rain but when the clouds are dark it does rain. Me: Wow! You are so smart, who taught you that? Camden: Jesus, in my heart.
Love that boy!

5/22  Every night Kevin goes on a killing spree! Moth season be over already.

5/7  Can't leave the house. SWAT is in our front yard!

5/2  Two things: I had a great day today. It was full of activity, fun and good bonding time with my kids and some friends. Also, Carson said "happy". I am sure it was just a fluke, but he did say it right after I said - "Are you a happy boy?"

4/18  Carson went on his first hike this morning with Mommy and Camden at Garden of the Gods - Siamese Twins trail.

4/16  One more comment for today: We had Carson's 6 month appointment this morning. And the doctor commented, "He's strong!" as she tried to get him to bend at the waist. Those of you who have held him know what I am talking about.

4/13  I took after Valerie N Derek Kite and walked to the store and then the playground today. Carson rode in the ergo and Camden walked/ rode in the stroller. I think it was about 4 miles total. The wind started picking up on the way home and now my lips are chapped. I also did Zumba this evening. Needless to say, I AM tired.

4/11   Carson has discovered raspberries. He practices them non-stop.

I was not blessed with babies that sleep through the night, but I am not one that does the cry it out either. So, if I look sleep deprived, I am. If I am absent-minded and forgetful, that is why. BUT, I am blessed with two healthy, beautiful boys and I am willing to sacrifice my sleep for the time being to be there for them.

3/19   Camden is the cutest. He told me tonight, "I have big bad wolf dreams." I asked, "Do they scare you?" C answers, "No, I get the big, bad wolf with my light sabre."

2/18  Carson turned 4 months old Wednesday. Thursday he had a 4 month check-up. He is doing great. He is right on track with his development. He weighed 12# 9oz (9th percentile on regular growth charts) 23 inches (7th percentile) and I didn't hear what he his head circumference was but it is in the 11th percentile.
