So, I am very frustrated at myself right now. Why did I break my leg? It has put me behind on so many things. First or all, I have not been good about taking pictures or posting them. The camera is usually the last thing I think of when we go out to do stuff and it takes all of my mental and physical energy to gather up Camden, diapers, wipes, snacks, and drink when we leave the house. Second, my responsibilities around the house take forever for me to accomplish or they get passed on to someone else. There you have it, my frustrations.
A list of things that need to be done:
1. Dusting (other than the obvious places)
2. Light bulbs replaced
3. Laundry (as always, but I have to wait for the weekends because I cannot get the clothes together to wash them, and Kevin doesn't have time to do it during the week.)
4. Windexing windows and other various glass surfaces
5. Cleaning the bathrooms - hard to do with a broken leg
6. Paint chips spackled over and touched up
7. Cleaning baseboards
8. Blog updated with pictures
9. Odds and ends organized and put away
What I've been doing the past weeks:
1. Sitting around.
2. Sleeping poorly.
3. Shopping by riding in those motorized scooters.
4. Making endless demands on my husband to fetch this and that for me.
5. Strengthening my left leg, yep just my left.
6. Trying to keep Camden and various other children entertained.
7. Going to doctors appointments and getting X-rays taken.
8. Went to the dentist.
9. Ladies Retreat
10. Mostly just sitting around.
What Kevin has been doing the past weeks:
1. Working at FedEx.
2. Picking up dog poop. (He gets paid for it, it's his new business.)
3. Working endlessly at the house to prepare meals, clean-up meals, pick-up toys, do laundry, wait on Camden and me, and other little tasks that need to be done.
Poor guy, he hasn't had much fun lately.
What Camden has been doing the past weeks:
1. Not sleeping through the night (probably the cause of my poor sleeping)
2. Loving his snacks (He is quite the beggar and scavenger when he thinks he needs food. He even begs from complete strangers. Example: We went to an indoor play place at the mall and Camden was flirting with other mothers trying to get them to feed him food that they were feeding their own kids. At home, he knows how to get into the pantry (when the child locks are not in place) and find a snack to eat. One day he brought a container of pretzels over to me and said "Open it". Although it was very cute, we are trying to be good parents and feed him only at certain times, so I told him to go put it back. He took the pretzels and walked away. I went to check on him a minute later and he was playing and I look around for the pretzels. I didn't see them. Finally, I opened the pantry and they were put away exactly where they go! Not only did he put them away, he put them back on the shelf and closed the pantry doors. He is pretty polite when he asks for a snack. He will say "nack, please" or "please, mama". He is also starting to get the hang of thank you. It is so very cute to hear his little voice saying thank you.
3. Camden is still very much into balls and sports. He loves to take his little suction cup basketball goal and throw his little balls into it. He claps for himself when he makes it. Also, Reese has been teaching him how to catch the football. It is the cutest thing to see a five-year old teach a 17 month old how to catch. Reese has great patience when it comes to this and what is even more amazing is that Camden has actually caught the football on several occasions. Camden attended his first hockey game last Friday night. He said hockey several times when they were on the way to the game. At the game though, he thought it was basketball and kept calling it that.
4. He has outgrown one pair of 18 month jeans. All the others still fit him, but one Old Navy pair is too short now. He is definitely getting taller, but he is still a little toddler.
5. He is quite the extrovert and talker. He smiles and flirts with everyone. He has over 100 words in vocabulary and numerous phrases. The other night, when I couldn't sleep, I tried counting the words he says on a pretty regular basis and came up with 95ish. Since that night he has added several more words to his vocabulary. He is also adding new phrases. He newest one is "Read the book" and "Please, Mama".
6. On the negative side, he is learning about mine and taking away toys. I know every toddler goes through this, but I was hoping mine would be the exception. Thankfully, he isn't too aggressive. Most of the time he just cries if his toy is taken away and I, of course, make him give back any toy that he takes from another child.
I know I started this post with some complaining, but I would like to change my tone a bit now. I am so very thankful for my loving and selfless husband, my beautiful son, my caring friends, and my forgiving God. I have all that I could ever need and much more. God is so faithful!

What a sweet husband and little boy! Ryan used to do the same thing trying to get food from other people at play areas - so funny! Think of how much you will appreciate having both your legs once you are done healing! :)
