Lots of Happenings

I think that everyone who reads my blog already knows our BIG NEWS. Our family is growing and Camden will have a little brother or sister in November.

This is how we told the grandparents. My mom was the only one who "got it" right away.

So far, the pregnancy is going really well. I am now sixteen weeks along. And the baby's due date is November 19th. We should find out what we are having in July. I have had morning sickness with this pregnancy, but the strangest thing happened when we went to Texas. The sickness almost completely went away, but it returned full-fledged when I came back to Colorado. My doctor told me that the high altitude usually makes people experience pregnancy symptoms more severely. There are a couple similarities with this pregnancy and Camden's. First, I have had morning sickness with both and I have been really tired in the evenings with both (although I think I am more tired this time around). And there are some differences too. With Camden, I had cravings for cheese. This pregnancy, I have almost avoided cheese and most of the time the thought of eating cheese makes me sick. With Camden, I had evening sickness, but I have not been sick at night at all this pregnancy. (This could be because I am not eating cheese.) With Camden, I had aversions to steamed veggies and really garlic-y foods, but I have not had aversions this time around. I have also gained about 2 pounds more this time around and had to start wearing maternity pants about four weeks earlier.

Camden is doing really well. He really enjoyed his visit to Texas and meeting his cousin, Callum, and Uncle David and Aunt Melanie. We also enjoyed visiting Gramma and Pawpaw, Grandmother and Granddad, Uncle Matthew, GGMom, Uncle Alden and Aunt Evelyn and cousin Jolina, and many other relatives at Abi's wedding.

Camden also enjoyed some summer weather while we were in Texas. Gramma bought a slip-n-slide for Camden to play with in the backyard.

Oh, and somebody else also enjoyed the slip-n-slide!

While we were in Texas, we spent some time in Houston and Austin. But we mostly enjoyed our visit to Beaumont. We hunted Easter eggs and Camden went to his first museum at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. We saw the dinosaur exhibit and the rare gem exhibit and the butterfly exhibit. I think my favorite was the butterflies! I think Camden enjoyed the butterflies too! Camden also enjoyed two visits to Bounce Zone (a bouncy house and bouncy slide place - Camden's words). He was very adventurous and went on the bouncy slides and obstacle course without me. We ate a lot of good food, both home cooked and out at restaurants, enjoyed shopping, and visiting Gramma's school and visiting Grandmother and Granddad's office.

Since we have been back from Texas, we have been enjoying our new gym membership at Lifetime Fitness. Camden cried the first couple of times I left him in the child-care while I was exercising, but we quickly overcame that. Camden's favorite thing is the swimming pool. He LOVES the water. He still talks about water slides all of the time and constantly asks me to go down the water slide. (He is not tall enough for the water slides at our pool.) We have enjoyed the outdoor pool three times so far, but the water is still really cold.

We had a garage sell the week after we came back from Texas and made about $500 dollars, which was pretty exciting to me. I was ready to get rid of a bunch of junk.

On Memorial day, we went hiking in Woodland Park to the Rampart Reservoir. It was a gorgeous hike and a beautiful day despite a lot of wind.

Camden and I also went to Adelyn's ballet recital a couple of days ago. Camden did really well through the 2+ hour program and kept asking between each piece if Adelyn was next. She was 12th out of 16 performances. Adelyn was very precious and did a really good job at her recital. We are proud of her!

I guess that is about it for the happenings of the last two months and we have a busy few weeks ahead. Stay tuned for pictures and stories of Family Bible Week, a camping trip, a Sky Sox baseball game and a trip to Water World!
